![]() The Seawolf is ordered to sea to study and spy on the newest Chinese missile submarine in an effort to get all of its vital statistics. Having picked it up for cheap and reading it a third time, I was able to enjoy it more than the first two times I read it. The second time I read it my feelings were not much better. I could say I understood others who talked about feeling 'betrayed' by how a book ended after reading this thing's ending. It is funny but I can remember the first time I read this book I loved it up until the end and then I completely hated it. As a result, several high-ranking naval officers and the National Security Advisor resign. ![]() President Clarke intervenes on behalf of his son. A military tribunal is held to assess the cause of the loss of the Seawolf. They get away and head back to Hawaii but encounter some torpedo and missile exchange on the way. ![]() The Navy destroys the sub and assaults the island where the crew is being held. Back in Washington, the politicians ae exchanging words with Chinese representatives while they ae secretly planning an assault to rescue the crew. the Chinese tow the sub to canton and place the crew under arrest. While Linus is at the con, the Seawolf runs into the towed array of a Chinese destroyer. The XO is Linus Clarke, who just happens to be the President's only son. The sub is commanded by highly rated Capt. USS Seawolf is charged with following a newly made Chinese sub to get as much info about it as possible. An exciting read involving high tech equipment, politics, a Seal team action, and the weaknesses of human integrity.
